The "second skin" is antique cotton fabric, late 1800's

Her two-pocket antique calico apron is pinned over the dress
and it is easily to remove.

Oil-painted stockinette head with six ringlets
across the back of her head and two more
on the sides.

The hand-sculpting is exquisite. My dolls have soft-textured head and body, also that lovely  smooth ( another typical characteristic of these early dolls) delicate touch  like well-worn old leather with a slight shine to it,  which has been handed down through generations to the present day.

Her dress is made from a Civil War Era Calico fabric with swirling vines print  and tiny cream polka dots on a turkey red background.
Turkey red was a color widely used to dye textiles in the 18th and 19th  centuries.

Her undergarments include petticoat, chemise and bloomers.  All made from antique fabrics.
